Discrimination

Here's something that even if you don't realize it, you have probably been a victim of, I most certainly have and in more was than one. It is a cold world that we live in and it seems all the colder to anyone that is facing something new in their lives. We will take my first two days at college as an example, there are people at my college of every colour, shape, religion, ethnicity and they all have their own beliefs, values and ways about themselves, we all do, I am no exception.
The issue I have, is how we judge, and yes I myself do falter now and then, you can tell the kids that where the "popular" ones, the "jokes" ohh I mean "jocks", the nerds the goofy ones the fat, thin, short, tall, green, blue, skater, punk, conservative groups that seem to find each other no matter where we go, school or work. In our lives we judge people on everything they do.
Here's my list of judgments that I have been witness too, or even (and I do feel somewhat shamed, okay not really cause I am rarely wrong about people) been involved in:
A) looks - the how of the way we try to express that inner person that is screaming to get out. Some folks are brave enough to try and be what they think that little demon is screaming about. Some think that by being exact copies of the other's in their group, that that will calm the beast inside. Some, try and fail, then try again to find what fits, and they may never seem comfortable in their own skin, but someday they will find that fit.

B)Weight - See this really has nothing to do with how people "look". Although I really don't understand the younger generations that think its okay to wear clothes that are too tight, to small , way to retro. It's a great and wonderful thing to be able to accept who you are, but that doesn't mean that allowing you're stomach, that may be a little on the large size to hang out of your clothes. We all want to look nice, we all want to be handsome or beautiful, we all want to be accepted. But those that are the most incredible, are those that are unconcerned with style, they just are what they are. This clothes thing isn't just for larger folk either, what's up with thin or skinny girls thinking it's okay to go to school wearing a mini-skirt and heels??

C)Social classes - this is the worst one, because we have no idea, we just assume by how someone looks, or how they dress what "social class" they are in

D)Education - for the record. Just because you think you know, doesn't mean you do, so stop judging others because you may think that you are smarter than they are. Most intelligent folks, like myself, will sit back and watch people make fools of themselves, as they ramble on.

E)Religion - Respect what others believe, who gives a shit if you believe it, its not your religion.

F)Place of origin - I have heard in the last two days the same ignorant girls make the same stupid statements, about how if you are from somewhere other than there hometowns, you are losers. Well, I feel sorry for people who's minds are as slow working as a plant.

These are but a few of the things that people judge others on. I know that I have judged, and been judged, but thank what every "Gods" I believe in that I really don't give a shit what people think about me, I do however care greatly, how people treat me. I have been pushed into a corner more than once, and have snapped off a piece of those people's imagination, intelligence, strength and have turned it to good use. I have taken the negative and tried my damnest, to be positive. The more people say that I am not, the more I will be. The more they say I can not, the more I Will, the more they say you are unable to, the more I WILL DO!!!
